Booking for our Living with Cancer retreat on the 9-10th of September 2023 is now open!
This unique retreat is designed for people living alongside a diagnosis of currently incurable cancer. Bringing together surfing, yoga, mindfulness and bespoke workshops, it incorporates key elements of psychological and physical strength and reflection.
This retreat is aimed at those living with stable disease who are otherwise relatively active and looking for some adventure. We welcome those on long-term non-immunosuppressive medications and those who may be off treatments.
Come and join us for a weekend of:
Surfing
Two beginner surf sessions with expert tuition, adaptable to your individual needs and with in-water support to help you master your technique and overcome any worries. This will last approximately 1.5 hours and there will be plenty of opportunities for breaks.
Yoga
A restorative yoga session with Josie Davis (Journeys Yoga), designed to stretch out the body and calm the mind at the end of day one.
Specialist Workshop
Build skills and understanding, and share experiences with others in our bespoke recovery-focused workshops, led by specialist practitioners. Previous workshops have been with Clinical Psychologists, Dieticians, Physiotherapists and Clinical Exercise Specialists.
Immersive workshop
On day two, join our restorative workshop which brings opportunities for self-reflection and restoration. Previous workshops have included Yoga Nidra or Breathwork sessions, Sound Baths, and Move Dance Feel workshops.
Evening Get-Together
Join us for a sumptuous feast on Saturday evening, offering time to hang out, catch up and reflect on the ‘stoke’ of the day.
Wild Swimming
An introduction to Wild Swimming session with Shona Marsh, Open Water Swimming Coach. Let your mind and body float away (though not too far!) whilst we take a mini-adventure exploring Newquay from the water. Full water support will be available and this is an adaptable session, so all levels of floaters and swimmers are welcome.
